Parking

Downtown Wausau provides over 3300 public parking spaces. Please see below for parking locations, rates, and a map.

Overnight Parking is available on streets from 2:30am – 6am.
Alternate Side Parking is in effect (April 1 – November 30), and no overnight parking is available December 1 – March 31.

Parking is free Sundays and holidays in metered stalls, parking lots, and four hour parking ramps. Please check signage at each location.

If you receive a parking citation, please include your ticket with your payment. You can pay them in person at City Hall, online at www.parkingticketpayment.com/wausau, by phone at 1-866-410-8952, or mail your payment to:

Please call the Parking Division at (715) 261-6765 for the following:

  • To purchase permits for downtown parking lots and ramps, to dispute a parking citation, or to inquire about the payment of tickets.
  • For overnight parking on City streets or other police related matters.
  • To report a malfunctioning parking meter or for general parking questions or information.

Residents calling this number after 5:00pm or on weekends about overnight parking or police related matters should not leave a voicemail message as they are not received by the Police Department. Residents who leave voicemail messages for overnight parking are subject to receiving a parking citation.
